Second Edition Of WindSong Music Festival Announced

12 November 2014

The WingSong Music Festival has announced a strategic partnership with auto manufacturers Maruti Suzuki and, along with Percept Live and World Of Yellow, brings you the festival’s revamped second edition in 3 cities over the next 4 months.

The outdoor event will be headlined by well known Bollywood performer Farhan Akhtar. This will be the first time he has ever performed at a music festival live. Other major names in the lineup include Leslie Lewis, Sidd Coutto, Vir Das, Ankur Tiwar, Suryaveer and Clayton Hogomeer (to name a few).

One of WindSong’s most impressive goals is their aim to become the first carbon neutral event. All power at the event will be sourced from natural sources such as solar, biofuel and natural gas generators, all the while ensuring every product sold at the festival are true to their eco-friendly mandate. There shall be recycle stations, compost stations, water stations (so attendees can refill their water instead of wasting plastic bottles) and biodegradable and edible cups (instead of plastic cups). On top of all this the camping, water stations, vendor booths and food vendors will all run on solar energy. All energy for production of the stages, and other installations that require power, will be sourced from solar panals and bio-fuel generators. A truly worthy endeavour (and quite amusing considering their partnership with a major automobile corporation).

WindSong will host a variety of stalls by experts on everything from eco art to exotic gastronomy, to installations to wellbeing classes and eco lounges. As if the live music and pop-up stalls weren’t enough there will be access to the usual extra curricular activities including - bungee jumping, flying fox, ziplines and free falls in the adventure park section.

The two day weekend festival will be held on 29-30 November 2014, in Hyderabad. 24-25 January 2015, in New Delhi and 28 February-1 March 2015, in Mumbai. For more information on the WindSong Music Festival visit their website here.
