Whale in the Pond Continue Their Wistful Turn To Romantic Songs With New Single ‘Midnight Falls’

Kolkata-based indie dream-folk band, Whale in the Pond recently released a new single ‘Midnight Falls’ as they continue their “wistful turn to romantic songs”.
Using dream synths and earthy mandolin tones, ‘Midnight Falls’ conveys the yearning to rescue something that was once cherished, all the while being ensnared in an illusion of optimism. As the song progresses, it shifts its focus away from idealized and euphoric portrayals of love, in turn exploring it with a more melancholic and grounded perspective. The song delves into the complexities of affection in a way that emphasizes the depth of emotions in romantic relationships.
The single follows ‘Pink’, and signifies a new thematic direction for the band as they shift to singing about matters of the heart after years of singing about desolate apocalypses, Lovecraftian horror monsters and bossa nova songs about supernovas.
