Club Tropes & Overestimated Hooks Weigh Down Dualist Inquiry’s New Single 'Get You Back'

1 August 2025

India's prominent electronica artist Sahej Bakshi aka Dualist Inquiry has just released a new track entitled 'Get You Back'.

In Bakshi's characteristic style of club-friendly music with an emotional edge, the track is not without experience-earned merit and meticulousness in its subtle layers. However, the producer overestimates the potency of the titular vocal sample that repeats throughout the length of the track as the star of the show. Introduced from the get-go, the repetitive refrain feels well enough at the beginning, but soon proves to be inserted a point too soon. The sample eventually begins to feel jarring and doesn't enjoy a proper respite, even in the breakdown.

If anything, the more laidback sections of the track highlight the potency of the composition for its elements that lend the emotional atmosphere and how they suffer from the inclusion of a dancefloor energy built on club music cliches.
