Call For Application: Amplify Music Incubator Invites Independent Musicians To Sixth Edition

With the aim of addressing the support and infrastructure for independent musicians, the not-for-profit initiative Amplify Music Incubator has just announced an open call inviting artists to apply for its sixth edition which will take place between August 14 - September 23.

Started by the events agency Gatecrash in 2021, Amplify Music Incubator will feature a hybrid six-week program with five weeks online and a final, week-long residency in Goa followed by a showcase. Artists like T.ill Apes, Bawari Basanti, Easy Wanderlings, Gouri & Aksha and SIRI have participated in the programme in the past and acts like Anoushka Maskey, Moli, Chirag Todi and Sunflower Tape Machine are part of the upcoming fifth edition.

Selecting its artists through the open call for its latter sixth edition, Amplify Music Incubator will feature workshops on mental well-being, and consultation with stylists to define a persona alongside one-on-one mentorship to help artists better navigate problem areas like content and release strategy.

Programme founder Tanish Thakker adds: “The biggest takeaway of AMI has been the change in attitude of the industry towards initiatives like Amplify. The industry looks at knowledge sharing and artist development differently, and they are being more proactive in wanting to help out – which is a big bonus."
