TribeMama MaryKali & T.ill Apes Collaborate On 'Concrete Jungle'

23 June 2021

Anna Katharina Valayil aka Tribemama Marykali's has so far marked 2021 with a successful realization of her genre-blending vision. Following up the danceable celebration of femininity with 'Bless Ya Heals', the Kerala-descent artist collaborates with Bangalore-based neo-soul group T.ill Apes, who made a stellar debut last year with the EP 'Lift Off' on the single 'Concrete Jungle'.

The track tackles the theme of the hollowness and emptiness associated with city life while the artists perform the composition among the natural landscapes of Little Flower Farms in the music video, highlighting the song's meaning through the contrast. Rapper Hanumankind offers emotive verses with a deadpan delivery style to punctuate the memorable chorus of Marykali against the band's languid jazz-funk arrangement to create a musical concoction made up of soul, pop-R&B and hip-hop in equal measures.
