Call For Entry: 8th Indian Recording Arts Awards

The PALM Indian Recording Arts (IRA) Awards celebrates talent within independent music, soundtrack recording and mixing of Indian albums/films. The awards place a special focus on recognising innovation in music composition and adopting new technology.

Previous winners of the award include Spud In The Box for their ‘Attention Please’ EP, Something Relevant, Avial, Advaita, Indus Creed and Indian Ocean.

There are 20 categories for IRA 2014:

  • Best Equipped Recording/Mixing Studio
  • Best Recording/Mixing Studio for Live Sound
  • Best Recording/Mixing Studio (Audio Post Production - Films & Commercials)
  • Best Mixed Album (Films)
  • Best Mixed Album (Non-Films)
  • Best Band Production (Album)
  • Best Electronic Dance Music Production (DJ)
  • Best Sound Design
  • Best Background Score
  • Best Film Song
  • Best Electronic Music Composition
  • Most Popular Song On Web & Radio
  • Best Music Producer
  • Best Percussionist (Recorded)
  • Best Guitarist (Recorded)
  • Best Record Label
  • Best Live Sound Mixing Engineer - FOH
  • Best Upcoming Recording/Mixing Engineer in Films and Music
  • Lifetime Achievement Award
  • Outstanding Contribution in the field of Audio Education

Deadline for entry is 15 April 2014 and the awards will take place on Saturday 31 May 2014 at 4pm. Entry is a pretty straightforward procedure, you can enter the same song/album in multiple categories but only soundtracks or albums released from January to December 2013 are valid for nomination.
