ennui.BOMB Present Latest Addition To Festival Calendar: New Wave Music

27 January 2014

Bombay based ‘BOMB Thursday’ promoters and independent label ennui.BOMB also behind the Control Alt Delete gigs have just announced the latest addition to this years festival calendar: New Wave Music.

Set to be held on 14-15 November this year in Goa, it will be a platform for the Asian punk and indie scene. Organisers are once again using crowd funding to assist in financing the festival.

The aim of the festival is to unite the indie/punk sounds from around the region and neighbouring countries to create a 2 day festival that supports and improves the alternative scene on a larger scale. Countries so far mentioned include Nepal, Burma, Pakistan and Malaysia. Ennui.BOMB founder Rish Singh explained to Pop Splat:

“Bands should be able to plot Asia tours on the basis on the friendships they make with Asian bands they meet at The New Wave […] This is The New Wave of music coming out of the Asian underground music scene and I’m glad to say, this is ennui.BOMB representing India to be a valid part of it. Let us become continental citizens first. Global citizenship can wait..”

While the exact details are still being worked out the quintessential stamp of an ennui.BOMB gig will remain: “Mostly cheap. Sometimes free. Always fun.”
