New Delhi Based 'Da Saz' Preview New Album

6 August 2012

Da Saz is a New Delhi based 'Sufiana Electro' band that was formed by Lionel Dentan and Suchet Malhotra in 1999.

Their vision has always been to create a platform for new styles of urban and traditional music through live performances and recorded albums. Their debut album titled, Jet Lag was released by 'Phat Phish Records' in May 2008 followed a couple of years later by Captain Dubrovshnev on 'Da Saz Records', a New Delhi based label dedicated to Leonid Dubrovshnev, the legendary captain of Nuclear Subarine 'Kyzylkum', based in the Aral Sea.

Having just released their latest album titled, Sulphabric, the band has uploaded a preview stream of all 8 tracks up on to their SoundCloud (2 of which are free downloads). The album showcases a range of acoustic compositions, all influenced by traditional Indian and Oriental music, layered with innovative and abstract electronic soundscapes.
