DJ Mag Ready To Launch In India

6 July 2012

DJ Mag is one of the world's biggest DJ magazines dedicated to covering electronic dance music. Originally started as a British monthly in 1991, the magazine is now translated into Portuguese, Polish, Ukrainian, Lithuanian, Chinese, Bulgarian, Spanish, French, German and Italian as well as being distributed worldwide.

As 'EDM' gets more and more recognised within India and the movement continues to flourish, it's no surprise that the world's most respected electronic music monthly is to hit Indian stands later this month. Although it will only be available in print every quarterly, it promises to cover the latest happenings from India's music scene as well as from across the globe.

Its well acclaimed Top 100 DJ Poll, which they curate twice a year has developed into dance music's most recognised indicator of public taste. Indian music lovers will also be glad to know that the opening issue will include a 'Top DJ' poll of Indian DJ's as selected by local DJ's and industry.

"My first email ID back in 1997 was iamadj@*****.com. I've always wanted to be a DJ and that probably explains why I'm such a DJ whore and can mostly be found hanging around one (...) So when DJ Mag happened and I was asked to be editor, you can imagine my elation. After two months of writing, editing and several drafts, the magazine is ready for launch. Tonight is one of the happiest days of my life as it gives me a chance to showcase the work and lives of a sub-culture of people who have worked tirelessly towards promoting a scene that in this country a lot of people still don't get." - Kenneth Lobo, DJ Mag Editor

**The magazine is due to hit stands within the next couple of weeks. Tonight (09 July) Mumbai's newest party spot 'F Mumbai' will play host to the official launch party with Guy J (pictured above), Jitter and DJ Clement. More info on that party and others happening across the country can be found on our events page here**
