Nikhil Chinapa & Browncoat Offer Release & Slot At Satellite Beachside Festival With Remix Contest Around New Track '1947'

Indian electronic music veterans Nikhil Chinapa and Browncoat marked Independence Day with the release of their new single ‘1947’ on Chinapa's Submerge Music. The track samples Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s historic 'Tryst with Destiny' speech, features sarangi by Sandeep Mishra of the Benaras gharana over washed textures of progressive house and simplified breakbeats.

Alongside the release, Chinapa and Submerge have announced a remix contest inviting DJs and producers from across India to reinterpret ‘1947’. The winning entry will secure a release on Submerge as part of an official remix package, in addition to a performance slot at the December edition of Satellite Beachside festival.

“We want to give Indian DJs and producers the chance to share in this emotion and reimagine it in their own sound,” said Chinapa, noting that submissions are open to all genres and approaches.
