flux vortex & NAARI Mix Jungle, Dub & Pop On 'Me & U'

New Delhi-rooted Goa-based electronica producer-DJ Aditya Kapoor aka flux vortex and vocalist Neeraja aka NAARI have just released a collaborative track entitled 'Me & U'.
Born out of the pair rekindling a childhood friendship and reminiscing about attending junglist parties in Delhi in the late noughties when NAARI visited the producer's studio in Goa, 'Me & U' starts from a quirky space that teases breakbeats before diving fully into it. flux vortex's dub influences make themselves known through the subdued textures and the use of effects as a key musical element. The laidback energy of dub and the frenzy of jungle achieve an easy-going contrast, packaging nostalgia around the breakbeats with the freshness of the combination.
Pairing nicely, NAARI's lyricism too works on two levels: repeatedly asking to celebrate and standing up against the powers that be before putting it in the context of romantic relations with lines like "Look what we've got right here, a sort of revolution // We've only got me and you".
