Dokodoko & Dreamhour Deliver A Playful Synth-Pop Gem With AI-Infused DIY Video On 'HeartHeartHeart'
7 January 2025
Once the duo of Sikkim artists Dr Kritika Nepal and Debo Sanyal (aka Dreamhour), Dokodoko has used their latest EP 'IDK' to separate their individual identities as the outfit becomes a solo vessel for Dr Kritika even as the pair work together (with Sanyal contributing as Dreamhour) over its 7 tracks.
Dokodoko and Dreamhour single out the track 'HeartHeartHeart' from the existential synth-pop collection with a music video that pairs the handycam aesthetic with AI cuts. A testament to the power of creativity and the pair's belief in DIY ethos, the music video mitigates the sterile and inhuman nature of AI-heavy work by infusing the release with a very discernible kooky and playful personality, characteristic of the pair themselves.
Even as a song, 'HeartHeartHeart' is the strongest culmination of Dokodoko and Dreamhour's musical endeavours as they whittle down the hyper amount of influences for a focused effort that merges synth-pop and indie guitar rock to deliver one of their most memorable melodies. Enough as a lighthearted bop, 'HeartHeartHeart' goes for a grandiosity in its final section that gives the feeling of celebrating the creative peak achieved by the duo on the single and its music video.
