Pranav Bhasin's 'Screaming on the Fly' Releases After SXSW Premiere

15 March 2023

Mumbai-based filmmaker and composer Pranav Bhasin's just released his latest single 'Screaming on the Fly', after premiering its music video at the prominent music performance and conference event SXSW 2023 where it was nominated for best music video.

This is a satire on buying more and feeling less,” says Bhasin. “'Everybody’s kinda coping all the time, shopping on the fly, screaming on the side.' I started humming the section to myself one afternoon and the song was born,” he recalls as the initiating idea behind the song which sees him move more towards more contemporary and accessible sounds after his more electronic EPs 'Houseplant' and 'Great But Not For Me'.

With a catchy refrain and a colourful melange of guitar and synth lines, the track's structure and mood of each section is mirrored in the music video which depicts a concept of excess, with the protagonist wanting everything materialistic at all cost to no satisfaction.
