Frame/Frame Releases New Single & B-Side

20 October 2014

Nikhil Kaul, New Delhi based producer and face behind Frame/Frame released a single ‘Hard Boiled Wonderland’ alongside b-side, ‘End Of The World’, earlier today. It's clear that this guy also had a little role to play with the concept and titles.

For those of you who haven’t read the eponymous book, ‘Hard Boiled Wonderland and The End Of The World’ is divided into two parallel universes and (without giving too much away), Kaul has cleverly used those titles to baptize the two halves of his mini EP.

The first single - ‘Hard Boiled Wonderland’ was written in collaboration with Madboy/Mink’s Imaad Shah. It’s an uplifting, spatial and whimsical tune that features Nikhil’s composed (sometimes constrained) vocals, playing with sound removal, pauses and percussion quite skillfully. The darker, quicker tones and infectious bass line in ‘The End Of The World’ caught us by surprise after its predecessor’s dreamy sound. Nikhil’s vocals on his b-side are also a lot more relaxed.

It’ll still take a while for this musician’s next release to drop but he’s hinting at taking a new direction with his sound which we’re excited about. The artist is also preparing for a new live show with Indigo Children band member, Sahil Mendiratta, which the team with debut at ennui.BOMB’s New Wave Fest, taking place in Goa next month.
