Call For Applications: Dosti Music Project

26 August 2014

The team at Found Sound Nation has opened applications for their new international music exchange program called the Dosti Music Project. The New York based non-profit organisation has in the past organised initiatives such as Play Me I’m Yours and the OneBeat cultural exchange program, for which the hugely talented Sanaya Adeshir (aka Sandunes) has been selected this year.

The Dosti Music Project aims to connect musicians from Pakistan, India and the US by holding a month long residency and tour that will take place in the US this coming spring. A total of 10 applicants from the eligible countries will be selected for the program to collaborate, create and develop music based social enterprises. Found Sound Nation has teamed up with the US Embassy in Islamabad with the hope to contribute to peace building and economic cooperation in the region.

The residency will take place over two weeks at the Atlantic Center for the Arts in Florida, and fellows will have the opportunity to tour various locations in the US as part of the program. The Dosti Music Project will cover all travel, food and production costs along with providing participants with a modest stipend.

The Dosti Music Project will take place from 23 February to 22 March, 2015 and selected applicants will be notified by November this year.

The deadline to apply is September 12 at 5pm EST. Details for the application and online registration are available here.
