Absolut Vodka Invites Artists To Design The India Edition Bottle

16 July 2014

In 1985, Andy Warhol became the first of many artists commissioned to create a portrait of the iconic Absolut vodka bottle. Since then, the brand has collaborated with the most exciting and creative visionaries of our age, in what has become one of the most successful ad campaigns of the twentieth century.

With the announcement of the first limited edition Absolut for India, the brand is giving the chance to Indian artists to be a part of its rich cultural legacy. The campaign will be a widely visible one and the bottle itself will sit on shelves all over the country.

Absolut is inviting artists to create a fresh, avant-garde India themed design that can be printed on their bottles. The winning designer will receive a hefty sum of Rs 500000 and an all expense paid trip to Absolut Sweden Factory, apart from a huge amount of publicity across Absolut’s media channels.

Artists in India take note; it’s time to get those creative juices flowing. To be included in the illustrious roster of artists who have designed for Absolut, which includes Keith Haring, Damien Hirst and Ed Ruscha, isn’t a chance you’d want to miss.
