Ciel Heads To India For A 3-City Tour

Toronto-based electronic act and a member of New York’s prominent female-identifying collective Discwoman, Cindy Li aka Ciel has just announced a 3-city India tour which sees her play in Mumbai, Kolkata and New Delhi between September 5-7.

Over the past 4 years, Li has meteorically carved her space as a compelling figure in the electronic scene of her adopted home of Toronto. Lauded as “one of dance music’s most vocal advocates for feminism and social justice” by Resident Advisor, Li has rigorously advocated inclusivity through her radio appearances (which include a Rinse FM residency) and women-focused event series Work In Progress. Subsequently, Li was called upon to co-host some of the earliest Discwoman parties before she joined the roster of the globally acclaimed collective.

Li exhibits the same fervour in her DJ sets and productions, pushing beyond the norms to put together a thoughtful flow between a wide array of genres. Reaching for and beyond electro, breaks, acid, techno and house, Li keeps a sense of relaxation and contemplation at the heart of her music – a feature she inherited from her formative love of shoegaze.
