Homegrown: India's Newest Youth & Culture Mag Launches

18 September 2013

Last week we told you about Homegrown, the all new youth culture magazine for India and beyond.

Co-founded by Natalia Lasota, Varun Patra and Mandovi Menon who between them share experience in the fields of advertising, film, production, marketing and writing, it promised an agenda that touched upon the worlds of music, art, fashion, lifestyle and more. And it's delivered.

Having launched yesterday to a stream of positive response from the nation's online community, we feel proud to see it take off. With compelling and gripping content from across the national cultural landscape, it not only looks pretty but packs an editorial punch too. We caught up with co-founder Varun Patra to see how he felt about it all:

"The idea of Homegrown came about in December 2012, and we started working full time on it in May 2013. It was incredible to see Homegrown come to life yesterday after all the months of hard work, coffee and several cases of beer. What is even more fantastic is the kind of traction we have received in the past 24 hours. It's a validation that we are possibly doing something right.

As we are in beta mode there are surely a few glitches in the UI. However, we are more than happy to have suggestions coming in from all our users on how we can improve in anyway possible. This is just a glimpse into what we have in store; there are a lot of really interesting content pieces, standalone projects and super cool collaborative works with various brands yet to come through our 'creative lab'." - Homegrown
