Mumbai Based Sickflip Gives Away Latest Track

6 June 2013

Sickflip the upcoming solo project from Mumbai based DJ and producer Sarvesh Shrivastava, has finally set himself a pace and is on a roll. Also a member of bass music collective 'Mental Martians', his very obvious influences range from genres such as glitch-hop and dubstep from the likes of Koan Sound and Noisia.

Last year we picked up on his debut EP and on the first listen realised that we needed to source a Wild City mix. He went on to deliver in style.

In the same form, he's recently put up his latest track for free download via SoundCloud. A rolling and tear out monster with a bouncy rhythm, big bass, and simple yet effective drum pattern, it gives us a 6-minute taste of what’s to come in he future.

"When working on this tune, I wanted to essentially create something for my sets which had an easy and groovy vibe, nothing too dark or heavy. It's a fresh new space I wanted to venture into, within the bracket of the 100BPM style of bass centric dance music that I'm digging at the moment. I believe this is a tune you could play in a club, in your car (on a late drive cruising through the 'City Lights') or in your shower and isn't particularly meant for just the floors." - Sickflip

You can hear and download his latest track, 'City Lights' below.
