Rise Up: New Monthly Event For Women In Music

The first edition of ‘Rise Up’, a new series of monthly events dedicated to bringing together women in music, will be hosted at Bonobo on April 11.
With the intention of connecting like-minded creatives and to encourage as well as inspire confidence in those who are starting out, ‘Rise Up’ will offer a place for female and female-identifying folks to exhibit and develop their skills in an inclusive and “egoless” environment. The event series presents itself as a “safe space for all people with a zero tolerance policy for sexism, homophobia, toxic masculinity or any kind of discrimination.”
Open for everyone to attend, the first edition will kick off at 8:30pm with an hour-long informal meet and greet session, allowing the people in attendance to chat and connect with each other. Following the meet and greet, aspiring local and established DJs including Sakshi, L.Y.D., Chrysis, Lady Ruffelin and Manaalina will showcase sets with music ranging from club, techno, house, hip-hop, electro, tribal acid and beyond.
