Mutations

Set amidst the backdrop of East London, the unlikely union of three vastly different individuals created the band. Hailing from India, California and Nigeria respectively, the three members of Mutations draw upon their diverse backgrounds to create a fusion of genres that is otherworldly and original. Rishon grew up in the Indian club scene immersed in dance music culture following a stint playing guitar in bands. He has been influenced by everything from electro and new wave to 60s soul music and beyond. Nico lived deep in the mountains of Big Sur, California, and turned to folk and hip-hop musicafter learning to play guitar in his early years. Ahdeesa grew up in Nigeria listening to 70s highlife and pop records, diving into hip-hop, rap and R&B after he moved to London.
