PIX Call For Submissions

27 February 2012

PIX, a photography quarterly supported by the Goethe Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan, is inviting professional and amateur photographers to submit images for the next edition on the theme of ‘Freedom’.

“As much a philosophy, an ethics of engagement, as an ‘act’, the notion of Freedom seeks to engage a series of photographs that may highlight how a circumstance, a point of view or even an idea may liberate an individual, an artist, the society, or even a perspective.”

Now in its fifth series, the quarterly is a photo heavy publication that features the work of about 10 photographers in each edition.

Work submitted has to be from India and be accompanied with a brief description. Min 12 / max 25 low res images can be submitted in the form of individual works, inter-related works or even abstract narratives. Further details can be found here and deadline for submissions is 1 April 2012.

No fee is provided for selected images however when published, the quarterly magazine is distributed widely in India with images duly accredited.

The current PIX exhibition (Vol. 4 Trespass) is currently being held at the Max Mueller Bhavan Centre until 5 March. You can download a copy of the latest edition here
