NAARI Leans Into Stillness & Storytelling On ‘Autumn Sunrise’

NAARI Leans Into Stillness & Storytelling On ‘Autumn Sunrise’

18 November 2025

India-raised Berlin-based Neeraja aka NAARI lets her songwriting flow unfettered on her latest EP 'Autumn Sunrise'. Consequently, the 5-track release meanders around the same spots lyrically, letting itself rest in undynamic sections as long as it lets the song's story unfold in all its details.

Ultimately, that's what the EP is about: its stories, which remain one of hope on 'Rise', of current disappointments reminding old patterns on 'Coming Back To Me', while both 'Angel' and the title track celebrate a moment in life through spiritual beckonings.

Co-written with French artist ATN Soul and co-produced with Swedish artist Dexter Eliot, the arrangements and sonic palette of 'Autumn Sunrise' expand and evolve as much as they can under the static structures of the songwriting but ultimately, the EP doesn't strike as a work that is about going somewhere. It rather focuses on keeping us to a story with an emotional ambience and then jamming within that as much as it can. Its lyrical phrases return and repeat frequently with different melodic inflexions like meditative outpourings. Expecting momentum might lead to disappointment but connect with the mood and resign to it, and there is enough reward across the 5 tracks.
