“Hence Anticlub, A Club Outside The Club! Where We Can Build Everything From Scratch!”: Warehouse Mix On Their Flagship Weekend Party

“AntiClub is not a regular weekend party!” announces Warehouse Mix, a collective of creatives ranging from DJs and visual artists to dancers and skateboarders, ahead of their upcoming edition of AntiClub in Gurgaon.
Active for about half a decade, Warehouse Mix has been a notably rising force in the music community (primarily) around Delhi-NCR since after the pandemic off the back of brandishing the ethos inspired by early NYC dance music culture at their live events with a DIY approach and educating the people of it through their social media. A key distinguishing factor of the outfit has been their “for the people, by the people” philosophy which they represent best through their AntiClub parties.
The events take over non-traditional spaces like film studios or garages and convert them into dancefloor with the help of the outfit’s collectiveness. “It’s an experience for which efforts are put in, from scouting the apt venue to curating the musical experience, focusing primarily on the energy of the dancefloor and everything art and expression,” they tell us. “Dancers are the backbone of our show and the freedom that they have to offer on the floor touches everyone. Coming outside the club frees us from the commercial rules and regulations that govern any gig.”
The collective utilises the freedom of having the event outside the conventional spaces to allow DJs to perform for more than an hour (the general set length in the country) and also to allow a more inclusive community to develop. “More inclusive dance floor, non-expensive bars/entry prices and more focus on building a community that meets for celebrating music and dancing,” adds Warehouse Mix. “Hence Anticlub, a club outside the club! Where we can build everything from scratch! Everything!”
