Many Roots Ensemble Release New Single 'Insaniyat' Featuring MC TodFod & MC Mawali

Mumbai-based collaborative group Many Roots Ensemble just released 'Insaniyat', their new single featuring performances by hip-hop crew Swadesi's MC Mawali and MC TodFod, who tragically passed away last year.

The group, usually known for its inclusion of native Indian influences in its blend of jazz and adjacent genres, offers a new flavour as they borrow from desi hip-hop with the help of the two rappers who have previously collaborated with the band for live sets. The single alternates between the rappers' verses about the socio-political deterioration in the country and the apathy around it with instrumental breaks that go hand-in-hand with their individual fiery energy.
