IAMDDB & DJ Lag To Embark On A 4-City India Tour

South Africa's leading Gqom act DJ Lag and Manchester's urban jazz pioneer IAMDDB will tour across India to Bangalore, Mumbai, New Delhi and Goa between February 17 - 25 as part of Ultra SoulFlyp, the new series by Ultra Kingfisher in partnership with Wild City and experiential agency Gently Altered.
Ultra Soulflyp presents itself as a year-round slew of events that aims to "bridge the gap between music and experience" with tech-led immersive celebrations of how culture and its communities are transforming.
To kick things off, the series will host Lwazi Asanda Gwala aka DJ Lag, a quintessential artist who led the minimalist, bass-heavy and foot-stomping international success of Gqom through unique Whatsapp-only initial releases, and IAMDDB (which stands for 'I Am Diana De Brito'), who embellishes jarred hip-hop beats with her unique, elastic style that glides between singing and speech to create a lovechild of trap and jazz which she dubs as urban jazz.
The pair will perform alongside bass purveyor Rasa at Bangalore's Gylt; with meteorically-rising producer-DJ Sickflip and house and disco selector Nariki at Mumbai's Great Eastern Mills; with recently Berghain-returned Lush Lata at New Delhi's Diablo; and Artistry in Goa alongside the joyous DJ Discokid and Electroson, a DJ all about the rebellious nature of dance music's early days.
Kicking off at 9 pm, the events will allow for free entry via RSVP on a first-come-first-served basis.
