Jamblu Drops Dreamy New EP 'Service Animal'

New Delhi's Kartik Pillai aka Jamblu, who is also known for his work as part of widely-loved bands Peter Cat Recording Co. and Begum, recently dropped a new EP entitled 'Service Animal'. Though released without much fanfare, save for a cinematic music video created by Rana Ghose for 'We never fight (cause we never talk)' which was released last month, the EP of 7 notably short tracks is Jamblu's most instantly-likeable work.

The comforting nature associated with the EP's title is a good indicator of what to expect. The lead single, opener 'If I Could Be Born Again' and closer 'I Want To Live' harken to the playful whimsical nature of yesteryear movie soundtracks in the nostalgic lo-fi central tunes while Jamblu's characteristic leftfield textures reinvigorate them. 'Take Your Time' achieves the same emotional effect though sounding more like a composition out of a French romantic film, while the gritty pounding 'Surround Yourself With The People You Love (and who love you)' and 'Get New' provide an exactly opposite contrast.
