Details Announced For The Exchange X AVA 2016

24 February 2016

The Exchange X AVA is a one of a kind conference and showcasing event that focuses exclusively on electronic music and features music industry professionals from Ireland and India, set to take place on 9 March at Khar Social. The event will be followed by a performance featuring a number of artists including Belfast electronic prodigy – Space Dimension Controller, who will first play in New Delhi on 4 March at Bandstand, as part of a special Wild City showcase.

Other acts include Phil Kieran, Irish techno duo Psycatron, DJ-producer and Bhavishyavani Future Soundz head honcho Mathieu Josso and live sets by Big City Harmonics and Perfectiming with visuals by Guerrilla Shout & Oblique.

The Exchange X AVA began in 2014 and has been organised by Great Britain’s UK Trade and Investment in collaboration with Belfast-based Audio Visuals Arts (AVA). The day-long event aims to encourage engagement and collaboration between the Indian industry and their counterparts in the UK, while discussing the challenges and rewards of working in music today.

Speakers include pioneers such as Mark Lawrence, chief executive Association for Electronic Music, AVA festival curator and creative producer Sarah Mc Briar, Paul Hamill, CEO Inflyte app and legendary Irish DJ and producer Phil Kieran.

We’re particularly keen to see Space Dimension Controller (Jack Hamill) make his debut in India. The Irish native first caught the attention of the international music community with his hugely acclaimed debut ‘The Love Quadrant’, released when he was just 19. His sound combines elements of (“intergalactic”) funk and electro, and he’s known for his live performances.

Update: The conference recently announced its Indian list of speakers and performers. The names include industry pioneers such as music entrepreneur Nikhil Chinapa, Sony Music’s Arjun Sankalia, Roopak Saluja of 120 Media Collective, Wild City co-founder Munbir Chawla, design strategist and one-half of India’s best visual artists BLOT!, Avinash Kumar, visuals specialists Kaycee and popular electronica artists Sandunes and Big City Harmonics.

Check out The Exchange's website and Facebook for more. The event is free, you just need to register on time to attend. Head over to Space Dimension Controller’s SoundCloud for more music and watch him play live below:
