Meba Ofilia, Khasi Bloodz, Stunnah Beatz & More Come Together To Represent Northeast India's Rap Talent On 'All Stars'

Never short of talent to contribute to the country's music, the North-Eastern region of India, which often doesn't get its due in the contemporary representation of desi hip-hop, has lately seen native platforms bring a heightened organization and polish as they champion the voices of its multiple states. One such organisation, the record label MOX has just culminated its effort by bringing together a chunk of the who's who in the hip-hop scene of the region through the single 'All Stars', which features rappers Meba Ofilia, Khasi Bloodz, G'nie, Borkung Hrangkhawl and Young Drrt over production by Stunnah Beatz.

The supergroup attempts to represent the hip-hop from the region and its very cultural diversity as they drop verses about everything from the Northeast's cultural identities and details from the daily lives to its political conundrums and history – interspersing it with autobiographical notes, with a notable fiery verse coming from D'Bok which highlights the problems faced by the youth through a personal story.

Through the single, which comes from an upcoming 7-track mixtape that features 20 different acts from the region, the label and the artists also give a nod to early pioneers like Michael M Sailo and DJ Bom, and celebrate the genre's history in the region. While laudable enough for its intention, 'All Star' also sets a high benchmark with its meticulous lyrics and narrative variety.
