Details Announced For KYTA Residency 2015

Experimental residency program KYTA (Karma Yatri Travel & Art) has just announced details, including participating artists, for its 2015 chapter, set to take place between 17 October and 26 November in Kalga – a small village situated in the Parvati valley in Himachal Pradesh.

KYTA unites the talent of 5 artists, each representing India and France. The artists, who are from various backgrounds and disciplines, will combine their knowledge and skill, and work together for over 6 weeks to produce material for a feature length film. Once the residency is over, all the artists will make their way back to Delhi to showcase their experience and artistic product along with new creations and performances at Zorba the Buddha on 26 November.

Indian artists for this edition include actor Karan Pandit, independent producer and director Mrinal Bahukhandi, experimental audio-visual composer and performer, Vinny Bhagat and new media artist, Aditi Kulkarni. French participants at KYTA 2 include conceptual artist, Marielle Chabal, performance artist, Laura O’rorke, new media artist, Jeanne Aubry, film director, Stephanie Manrique, musician and performer, Anmari Wili, and KYTA team member Charlotte Ward.

Together, this resident group will live at Sunset Cafe, one of the oldest wooden structures in Kalga and work out of the common studio - a space that usually functions as a cafe for tourists.
