New Label ‘Circuit’ Aims To Push Local Underground Techno Talent In India

29 June 2015

We’ve just received word of a brand new Delhi based label that aims to further the growth of underground and experimental techno in India. The new label is called ‘Circuit’ and has been launched by minimal techno producer and instigator Ashish Sachan a.k.a. Hashback Hashish, who performed at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas earlier this year as part of a REProduce showcase.

Announced only a few days ago via social media, Circuit’s first release will feature select tracks from Hashback Hashish’s last LP ‘Brevity’ (reviewed here), including London based Perc’s remix of its title track. Apart from digital availability, those of you who prefer a purer sound can also opt for the vinyl by pre-ordering from crowdsourcing platform Qrates. Placing your order now will also get you a free bonus track by Hashback Hashish.

On top of all that, Circuit will also be launching itself to live audiences with monthly showcases at various venues in Delhi (“to begin with”) and will feature forward thinking techno producers from the region. The debut Circuit showcase kicks off at one of our favourite venues, Barsoom, in Hauz Khas Village on 2 July 2015.
