Bangalore Based 'Sine Painter' Selected To Attend Red Bull Music Academy 2015
23 June 2015
Just under 24 hours ago, Red Bull Music Academy announced that they would be revealing the participants for the upcoming edition, due to be held in Paris this fall.
In total 61 artists from 37 different countries have been invited to the Academy home at La Gaîté lyrique to take part in workshops, lectures and studio sessions with some of the best in their field, whilst also being given the opportunity to perform at a few of the French capital’s most celebrated venues.
They decided to release the info slightly differently this year. Announcing them one-by-one, presenting a short bio along with an illustration of each participant by Soraya Brouwer. You can see them all here
This morning it became clear that Bangalore based Jayanth Ramachandra a.k.a The Sine Painter - has been the only participant to be selected from India.
Ramachandra's downtempo take on deep house, caught our eye back in November, when he was selected as one of our Dropbox Talents. We couldn't be happier knowing that he'll now be representing a new breed of Indian producers at the prestigious institution that is Red Bull Music Academy. Here's what he had to say:
"Through its lecture videos, radio shows and live events, Red Bull Music Academy has always been an incredible source of both inspiration and information for me. Listening to the life stories of so many musicians that I respect was one of the reasons that I approach music the way I do. For that and many other reasons, I'm extremely honored and grateful to be selected as one of the participants of RBMA's class of 2015, to be held in Paris later this year. This is an absolute dream come true for me and I'd like to thank everyone who has supported me and guided me through my journey so far." - The Sine Painter
