Bangalore Venue CounterCulture To Close This Weekend

27 May 2015

Iconic Bangalore space CounterCulture announced yesterday on their Facebook page that this weekend will be the last that they will function “as a restaurant and music venue”. The CounterCulture team went on to say that they will be moving on to “more exciting projects” within the music and art community.

Many (including us) were quick to lament the end of CounterCulture, but they made it clear that the closing of the space did not mean the end of CounterCulture:

“It’s unfortunate that people see this as an end to CounterCulture and as a closure; we are not closing, we are moving on to more exciting projects and positively giving up the brick and mortar business. Starting 1 June, CounterCulture successfully exits the music venue/F&B business but continues to be in the indie music space. There are a few exciting projects lined up which lets us scale and spread faster and wider, which we would announce when the time is right. An altogether new journey starts and everyone in the team is pumped up. Stay tuned to hear more from us.”

CounterCulture’s last gig “as a venue” will take place this Saturday 30 May at 8.30pm and features talented producers like Audio Pervert, Masta Justy, Karthik Basker, Faheem and more to be revealed shortly.

If you’re in Bangalore this weekend, we suggest you drop by to pay one last homage to their space before CounterCulture moves on to things bigger and better. Follow them on Facebook for updates and more information.
