Music Basti Opens Applications For Resound 2015-2016

21 May 2015

We’re big fans of Music Basti. Founded 7 years ago by Faith Gonzalvez, the Delhi based organisation takes at-risk children, youths and artists on an intensive creative, musical journey with the aim to instill confidence and rouse a sense of community and learning.

The ReSound program was launched by Music Basti more recently in 2013 as “a move towards the realisation of Music Basti's founding belief in a community-led approach to music education for social upliftment in India.” The team has just announced that the applications for teaching artists for ReSound 2015-2016 are now open. The deadline has been set for June 15 this year, so those interested in being a part of this wonderful initiative better get cracking. All the details and criteria for application are available here.

20 teaching artists will be selected after a round of open applications, interviews and auditions. They will, over the course of the program, work with children from different age groups and have the opportunity to impart a sense of joy and learning through what (we think) is the most enjoyable medium there is.

Music Basti has also just announced the launch of a shiny new website, where you can find further information. Follow them on Facebook for updates and watch the inspiring video of the ReSound annual concert 2015 below - the fruit of the last edition’s labours, which took place at the Garden Of Five Senses.

***Update: the application deadline has been extended to Saturday 20th June 2015. You still have a few days left! Apply here.***
