Curtain Blue Releases Debut EP ‘Drones'

13 April 2015

Anyone who’s been following us would know that we’re (more than) fans of Curtain Blue. After an exciting year collaborating and performing, we’re enormously pleased to announce the release of the Delhi based artist’s hugely anticipated debut EP ‘Drones’ via Rolling Stone India.

Curtain Blue is known for his fractured beats, commanding vocal delivery and unique melodic sensibility, drawing inspiration from forward thinking alternative electronic outfits like Radiohead, Apparat, Moderat and Jon Hopkins. This distinctive approach to sound has enabled him to create a niche for himself and has even attracted the attention of German producer Robot Koch, who saw him perform at the flagship edition of the Magnetic Fields festival in 2013. Koch’s last EP ‘Tsuki’, which came out via Berlin based Monkeytown Records, featured collaborations with Bhatia on two tracks as well.

Vital agency recruit Abhishek Bhatia collaborated with a number of his contemporaries, including Frame/Frame, FuzzClulture, Sundogproject for a memorable pre-launch party for ‘Drones’ which took place on 9 April at antiSOCIAL. The last week also saw the busy artist release a short teaser video and drop his official first single - ‘My Obscurity’.

Listen to the EP below and follow Curtain Blue on Facebook for updates. The producer will also be playing alongside Sulk Station and Nicholson at Alchemy at the Southbank Centre in London as well as numerous dates in both India and the UK through April and May.
