Delhi based Global Music Institute have partnered with the Berklee College of Music and will be hosting a variety of workshops, auditions and interviews from 31st January to the 2nd February.
Founded by Aditya and Tarun Balani in 2011, GMI is an Institute that offers a contemporary approach to music education in India presenting an in-depth study into a broad spectrum of musical genres including jazz, rock, pop, blues, western, classical, world music, Indian classical and folk music. Also incorporated into the syllabus are essential tools in music technology and music business management.
The open workshops are free but registration is essential and seats are limited so make sure you email info@globalmusicinstitute.in to secure a spot.
Here’s a look at the workshop schedule for this Friday 31st January:
10–10.30am: Registration and coffee
10.30–12pm: Daryl Lowery - Concepts for improvisation and performance ear training
12–1.30pm: Jason Camelio - Road Map for the composer and arranger
2.30–4pm: Ron Mahdi - Rhythm section concepts
4–5.30pm: Pearly Lee - Berklee information session
6–7pm: Open jam session
