T.ill Apes Are At Their Most Energetic With 'Whoa There Nelly'

3 March 2023

Bangalore supergroup T.ill Apes, comprising of Hanumankind, Doc.Awes, Soorya Praveen, Sange Wangchuk, Philip John and Gautam David, recently dropped their latest single 'Whoa There Nelly' to depart slightly from their usual fare for a high-octane number more inclined towards energy than mood.

The song was inspired by the fleeting moments of chaos in the film 'Reservoir Dogs' and features dissonant notes and syncopated beats that draw in the listener. The elements that set the track apart from the rest of the discography are the lead vocalist Hanumankind's lyrics around the frustrations of confrontation and the challenges of rising to stardom, as well as Gautam's aggressive saxophone lines that provide a response to the layers of bass synth, analogue keys and guitars. More than for individual listening, the resultant composition builds anticipation towards experiencing it live with a clear indication that the intensity of 'Whoa There Nelly' will translate better on stage.
