Magnetic Fields Festival Returns For 9th Edition With A Focus On 'Preservation'

5 July 2023

One of the premiere music festivals taking place in India and a calendar highlight for the country's alternative culture, Magnetic Fields Festival has announced its return to the backdrop of Rajasthan's Alsisar Mahal between December 15-17, with tickets on sale at the festival's website.

The arts and music festival has become an annually awaited affair for its sharp curation and experiential offerings, with the 2022 outing hosting the likes of Four Tet, Ben UFO, Saoirse, HVOB, Young Marco, Seasonal Affected Beats and Elsewhere In India. For its upcoming 9th edition, Magnetic Fields Festival keep the theme of 'preservation' at its centre, as "a call to action to protect what's good, revive what's fading, and preserve what's essential for humanity."

"It will all reflect the diversity of cultures and traditions that we aim to preserve and honour,” explains festival (and Wild City) co-founder Munbir Chawla. "There will definitely be more focus on unheard sounds and up-and-coming acts from India, and our festival commission Fieldlines, that focuses on intergenerational cultural sharing and exploring new approaches to the traditional residency format, will return for a third edition."

With a promise of offering a limited-capacity immersive and sensorial adventure that focuses as much on curating exciting music as on introducing new concepts and experiences, Magnetic Fields is inviting attendees to join them in the desert for another outing. Alongside the passes, the festival will continue to offer accommodation options like palace rooms, luxury camping and general camping.

For tickets, head to the festival's website and follow it on Instagram to stay updated. Catch a glimpse of the festival's previous edition below:
