Floating Points, Roman Flügel, Dorian Concept & More To Play At Magnetic Fields 2016

After 3 consecutive years delivering the most forward thinking music internationally and from within the subcontinent, Magnetic Fields Festival 2016 is finally out with an incredible lineup for 2016.

The set up of the festival will be the same as last – with the South (Day) Stage featuring live acts you can enjoy while laying easy on the lawns, and the Red Bull Music Academy North (Night) Stage, which will feature dance music from some of the best selectors in the world.

The RBMA North Stage this year will feature DJ sets by acclaimed English musician and Eglo label owner Floating Points, celebrated German techno producer and DJ Roman Flugel, veteran dubstep initiator Pinch and Bangalore based 2016 RBMA selectee Oceantied.

The South Stage (which features live music in various forms) will include Austrian multi-instrumentalist Dorian Concept, Japanese experimental electronica producer Daisuke Tanabe, Pune/London based prodigy Sarathy Korwar, and Luxembourg downtempo, ambient producer Napoleon Gold. Homegrown artists will be represented by singer/songwriter Prateek Kuhad, lo-fi psychadelic band Begum and up-and-coming collaborative electronica act Nikhil Narendra and Shreyas Dipali. Mumbai-based ambient duo Burudu will open the festival on Friday evening.

What sets Magnetic Fields from the rest is its incredible dawn breaking after-parties. London’s most exciting hip-hop collective Livin’ Proof will take over one night, with the rest to be announced soon. Representing the collective will be Raji Rags (head of music at Boiler room) and Khalil.

Of course, the festival will continue the tradition of providing an interactive, holistic experience for its patrons with day-time yoga workshops, stargazing (we coincide with the Geminid meteor shower this year), treasure hunts and more.

If you’re a creative person who’d like to be more involved and play a bigger role in the festival (and get free tickets in return), you can have a look at the details for our creative barter here.

Remember that this is just phase one of the lineup – there’s a lot more information coming in the months leading up to December.

Check out Magnetic Fields on Facebook for updates and follow #MagFields2016 across social media for more. The festival will take place from 9-11 December, you can head over to the website to get tickets and accommodation.
