Applications Open For Red Bull Music Academy 2015

22 January 2015

Red Bull Music Academy has opened applications for its 2015 edition set to take place in Paris this autumn. The world travelling series has garnered great acclaim since its inception in 1998, and each edition hosts a number of workshops, talks, studio sessions and club nights, giving a rare chance for young music mavericks from all over the world to interact with luminaries in the industry. The Academy will take place from October 25th to November 27th, 2015.

The application process (which was meant to begin earlier) was delayed due to the unfortunate events in Paris earlier this month, opening only yesterday on 21 January. The completed application, along with demo music can be physically mailed to their headquarters in Berlin before 4 March. All details needed to apply are available on RBMA's website here and selected applicants will be notified in June, later this year.

For more information, you can read Mr. X’s detailed account of last year's Tokyo edition here).

21 January also saw the release of 'Various Assets - Not For Sale‘ 2014 - a snapshot of the collaborative music that the participants from around the world produced at 2014’s Red Bull Music Academy in Tokyo. The digital download is available here for free download.

We’ve said it before but we’ll say it again – this is a once in a lifetime opportunity that we very strongly suggest every musician and producer apply for. Despite it increasingly implementing an ongoing dialogue with the electronic music world, it's not only for electronic musicians, and you don't even have to have recorded/finished music to apply.
