Apparat To Tour India This Month

1 August 2012

If you've kept a close eye on the pulse of electronic music at any point over the last five years, it's safe to say you'll have encountered Sascha Ring a.k.a Apparat, the Berlin based musician who has been a restless force in contemporary electronic music for over a decade. In that time he's released 4 critically acclaimed Apparat albums, alongside a techno masterpiece with long time collaborators Modeselektor as Moderat.

Often described as the missing link between Steve Reich, Sigur Rós and Radiohead, Apparat will be on a tour across India later this month touching down in Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai and New Delhi between 24 August and 31 August as part of the ongoing year of Germany in India titled 'Germany and India 2011-2012: Infinite Opportunities'. The same initiative under which The Indo-German Urban Mela continues to travel across the country and how German electronic trio Jahcoozi came out last year.

The tour will be in support of his latest LP 'The Devil's Walk', which saw him bid farewell to more dancefloor focussed productions in favour of the richly melodic tracks that make up most of the album. The album itself was conceived in Mexico with Telefon Tel Aviv’s Joshua Eustis, and developed in Europe with Patrick ‘Nackt’ Christensen of EBM outfit Warren Suicide.

Apparat officially announced the tour via a tweet that simply said: "Yeah! We'll be touring India in end of August!"
