Ziro Festival Of Music

26 July 2012

The good chaps behind one of our favourite Delhi hangouts Ziro have just announced details about a new festival. The three day event will take place between 14-16 September this year, 167km from Itanagar (capital of Arunachal Pradesh) in a town called, wait for it... Ziro.

Set betwixt blissful hills within a cool altitude, Ziro Festival is situated within the heart of thick lush forest and paddy fields. Organisers are enticing punters with their persuasive rhetoric and also a warning: "Ziro is pretty. Ziro is quaint. Ziro is old. Ziro vibrates with a rare energy that will have you hooked, and will make you regret that you ever came here. Because once you get a taste of Ziro, you’ve got to keep coming back."

Promising delightful weather all year round this is a festival for music lovers, art enthusiasts and wanderers.

Tickets are a very reasonable Rs 1000 for one day or Rs 2500 for all three days (details of where you can buy these will be announced soon) and accommodation comes in a variety of forms with details about local options on the site here - camping facilities will also be available.

The line up so far includes:

Menwhopause
Peter Cat Recording Co.
Lou Majaw
Teddy Boy Kill
Sky Rabbit
Digital Suicide
Street Stories
Lucid Recess
Omak Komut Collective
The Vinyl Records
The Dirty Strikes

More to be confirmed, keep your eyes peeled on their website here for further info.
