Snoop Dogg Officially Announces Reggae Album. Listen To Major Lazer Track

23 July 2012

News has recently emerged that Snoop Dogg is to release a reggae album under the Snoop Lion alias. The first time the world renowned rapper has released a solo full-length under another name.

'Reincarnated' is Snoop's twelfth studio album, and will be accompanied by a documentary when released by Vice Records later this year. Speaking of the project, Diplo, one of the producers behind the album said:

''Snoop Dogg is an icon, man; he's bigger than the music. What we're doing is a reggae record. It's all reggae and he's singing and he's doing a fucking awesome job and I never knew it, but he had his heart in every song.''

The controversial rapper recently revealed that his new musical groove felt like a meaningful and natural progression. He said: "It's special. It's a real special project to me because it's like the reincarnation and the birth of me becoming who I really am.''

In a Twitter post, the ganja loving MC also supported the reggae-like message of unity: "the world needs more love right now. wisdom. guidance. protection,".

Lead track ‘La La La’ has already made its presence felt online. It was produced by Diplo and Ariel Rechtshaid and "executive produced" by Major Lazer. You can hear it below:
