Stream East Stepper's Debut Radio Bass EP

30 April 2012

DeepMisfit is an independent label from New Delhi which aims to play host to "the deeper and more reflective side of Indian dance music."

Earlier this month, the first release from the newly launched label came from label boss and bass music producer Abhishek Jha a.k.a East Stepper who has over the years taken the sounds of Indian bass music to a global audience through regular plays at BBC Radio 1, BBC Asia network, BBC world services and other international radio platforms.

East Stepper's Radio Bass EP is a million miles away from the menacing, stark creations found on the production of other bass music producers across the country. Forgoing the hoover bass wobble so prevalent in the dubstep sound, he's created something accessible and unique. As his name suggests the EP carries a heavy dose of Asian influences yet they are used so modestly that it's almost hard to find criticism. A good sign for both Indian and fusion electronica.
