Music, glamping, adventure sports & pop-up villages: Area 79

Delhi based collective Audio Aashram have been off the radar for a little while, but with good reason; Area 79 this March is set to be one of the most anticipated festivals of 2012.
Located within the lush dense Himalayan forests, the festival will combine a wide range of music with a variety of activities to satiate the adventurous spirits. Horse riding, night safaris, rock climbing, quad biking, paintballing plus the biggest zipline in south-east Asia.
Spread over 4 days and 3 nights (8-11 March), there will be 3 stages with a line up boasting some of the worlds most sought after dance acts. The festival will also play host to a multitude of Indian bands and DJ's whilst keeping music going for 24 hours a day. (Full line up below)
There are a variety of accommodation options, the super keen can bring their own tents to pitch on site but if getting that close to nature isn’t for you, fear not, luxury in the jungle is also at hand. Glamping (glamorous camping), cottage and dorm options are available. For the bleary-eyed and weary dancers a sensual recluse has been conjured up with a variety of pop-up villages to cater for the mind and body. You can indulge with a massage in the alternative village or head over to the cultural village for film screenings.
We’re excited by the line-up, but more by all the added extras that Area 79 have in store. It's always the little things that make an event like this so memorable and these seem to be in abundance.
