Nitin Sawhney Prepares To Play India For Very First Time

19 January 2012

UK based producer, songwriter, composer, DJ, multi-instrumentalist and cultural spokesperson, Nitin Sawhney will be performing live in India with his band for the very first time next month.

Playing in support of the release of his 9th studio album Last Days of Meaning, Sawhney has recently earned a reputation as a latter-day renaissance man crossing the worlds of music, film, games, dance and theatre.

“I look forward very much to my first trip to India with my full band. After playing concerts to packed houses across the world for over two decades, it feels incredibly reinvigorating to return to the land of my heritage with some of my favourite musicians and singers on the planet. We are all so enthusiastic to bring our music to India." - Nitin Sawhney

Most recently, Nitin has been working on the score for 'Midnight's Children' a film directed by acclaimed filmmaker Deepa Mehta, which is an adaptation of the award-winning novel by Salman Rushdie. He's also composing the score for 'The Lodger', one of Hitchcock's early silent films that is being recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra. As if this were not enough, Nitin is also currently writing, directing and producing 'Einstein Tagore', a theatre production based on conversations that took place between Albert Einstein and Rabindranath Tagore in 1930, due to debut in 2013.

He'll be playing a three city tour across the country early next month. Details below:
