Mr Williamz Set To Smash Up The Dance

Mr. Williamz burst onto the global reggae scene in 2008 with his debut single “Babylon in Helicopter". The song reached No.1 in the US reggae singles charts and No.2 in the German reggae charts. This led to Mr. Williamz being honoured by the BBC as UK Reggae artist of the year. He has since released a number of hit singles that have been in heavy rotation on radio stations and DJs playlists worldwide.
Born in London and brought up in Jamaica, he is considered as one of the most exciting new acts within the global reggae scene. Having been surrounded by music from his earliest days, Williamz started to go to the dancehall from the tender age of 5. This is evident within the man's microphone talent, be it roots reggae or even dancehall.
“I grew up in the dancehall. My father was a Rasta and had a free mind. He used to give me money so that I could go to the dancehall, I feel blessed to have had the chance. Most youth don't get that opportunity. It was a very exciting for me - I was like a sponge.”
Over the last 3 years he has toured extensively in Central America, Japan and many countries across Europe. This coming week however, will be the first time that Krunk and Reggae Rajahs will be bringing the "unstoppable chatting machine", Mr. Williamz to India. He'll be playing alongside some very special guests at each show including Mungos Hi Fi and Soom T in Mumbai on 15 December...
Having destroyed a packed house at Delhi's longstanding underground venue Zook, Mungos Hi Fi now prepare to join Mr. Williamz, taking the party down south in celebration of the city's annual 'Christmas Jam Down'. An act that champions the evolution of reggae, dub and dancehall music, re-invigorating the soundsystem culture. They have developed formidable live shows, collaborating with foundation legends like Ranking Joe, Sugar Minott and Sister Nancy as well as top vocalists on the scene such as Kenny Knots, Mr. Williamz, YT and Indian born "lyrical assassin", Soom T.
All of the country's reggae lovers should not miss out on this chance to see some of the international scene's most exciting contemporary acts in action.
