Still Hope For Metallica & Megadeth Supergroup

It has been reported that Dave Mustaine from heavy metal group Megadeth has been reaching out to his former bandmates Lars Ulrich and James Hetfield in an attempt to create an ultimate supergroup.

Mustaine was Metallica's lead guitarist for two years in the band's early days. When it was decided that his alcohol and drug abuse, aggressive behavior and personality clashes with Heltfield and Ulrich were too much, Mustaine was driven to the bus terminal, while in New York recording, and put on a Greyhound back to Los Angeles.

This however didn't put an end to his story. He went on to form Megadeth in 1983 which had much success due to both personal efforts and his links with Metallica.

Mustaine recently told Texas radio station The Eagle Rocks of his collaborative goals of forming a supergroup: "I've talked to Lars and James about me and David from Megadeth doing a supergroup record with Lars and James". He continued to rouse hope by saying: "Well, James never said no, but it's still kind of out there in the air. I'm gonna keep hammering on him. It's on my bucket list of things to do"

Mustaine appears to be on good terms with Metallica these days, having toured as part of the Big 4 package (Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax) over the past two years. It remains to be seen however, whether the friendship will turn into the business relationship Mustaine is currently trying to put into action.

For now, we in India, can look forward to the bands show in Delhi and Bangalore in October. Tickets are moving fast and look to be sold out very soon. You can still get some front section seats here.
