Details Announced For 'The Exchange' 2017

1 March 2017

Music conference and showcase, The Exchange, will be take place on March 28 in Mumbai for its fourth edition.

Initiated in 2014 with the simple idea of igniting conversations between music industries experts in the UK and India, the conference has grown significantly over the last few years becoming an effective and valuable dialogue between the two countries.

This year a 30-member strong team will be visiting India from the UK. This includes members of the Beggars Group who distribute for influential labels: 4AD, Matador, Rough Trade Records, Young Turks and XL Recordings; Sarah McBriar, founder of AVA Festival and Conference in Belfast, who also visited India as part of The Exchange x AVA collaboration in 2016 and 'The Beatles Story' from Liverpool.

Discussions on current trends in production and sound technology across both countries will also be one of the key issues that will be dissected as well as topics that include understanding music consumption patterns in tier two cities, the potential of online radio and why India will see a rise in boutique festivals.

The event is an initiative of the United Kingdom’s Department for International Trade in collaboration with Mumbai-based promoter Submerge.
