Arjun Vagale & Ash Roy to Play at Awakenings Festival

In news that will excite the Indian electronic music community, Delhi-based Arjun Vagale and Ash Roy have been added to the line-up of this year’s Awakenings Festival. The home-grown producers will be joinging a plethora of talent, in what is largely known as the largest outdoor techno festival in the world.
Taking place in Amsterdam, the festival is easily one of the highlights of Europe’s techno calendar, drawing over 70,000 visitors annually. Started in 2001 with one stage over a single day, it has grown over the last sixteen years occupying eight stages over two days. The lineup this year features heavyweights including Black Madonna, Joris Voorn, Blawan and Nina Kraviz, pioneers like DJ Rush, Adam Beyer and Sven Väth, and debutants such as Eagles & Butterflies and Minimum Syndicat.
A step in the right direction for not only Indian electronic culture but for the entire country’s music scene. Arjun Vagale also recently launched his own record label, Odd Recordings, with Ramiro Lopez. You can hear the first release here
